Embrace all that is - This piece feels like she has come full circle. I honestly set out to do a rainbow piece and the first layers looked okay but they weren't talking to my soul. They didn't make me want to sit infront of my art for hrs and lose track of time. I just kept wanting to give into the moodiness and be expressive. So I covered her up and I love this one so much more. Not all pieces are for everyone. Sometimes it takes me more than one attempt to call the piece "finished". Just some reasons why I love expressive abstraction. You could be one stroke away or fifty...it's all about the feeling. As much as colours are joyful and fun and make you smile, sometimes it's nice in-between all the colourful pieces to do an expressive one. It almost shakes me out of any funk. I think it gives art a different experience to stand in front of a piece and feel something else. This one makes me think of riding through the waves and storm knowing that the sunrise will bring something new...
Very much the feeling of being the mum to my crazy boys right now. One minute I want to pull my hair out and the next I just want to hug and squeeze them so tight..
